About Greenhaven

Greenhaven is one of the recognised local areas in Hearth, Havenstead.

Greenhaven in Havenstead

Havenstead’s local government geography is organised as Havenstead → sphere → local area → ward. Greenhaven is a local area within Hearth, one of Havenstead’s two spheres. The other recognised local areas in Hearth are Rosehaven and Bridgewell.

A local area is the ordinary territorial unit served by a principal council. Greenhaven therefore exists as a place and administrative area independently of whether Greenhaven Council has commenced its operations.

Greenhaven Council

Greenhaven Council is the principal local authority for Greenhaven. Its purpose is to provide democratic local government and the local services assigned to Havenstead principal councils. The council is constitutionally recognised but has not yet commenced, so it does not currently have an elected membership or operational service estate.

Places within Greenhaven

Cities, towns, villages, suburbs, neighbourhoods and other named places can exist within a local area. Those place names are useful for community identity and local information, but they do not automatically create an additional constitutional tier of government.

Wards

Wards are electoral areas below the Greenhaven local area level. Their purpose is to provide the geography from which councillors are elected. Greenhaven’s ward names, boundaries, council size and councillor numbers have not yet been established and will be published only after the proper Havenstead boundary process.

Greenhaven in wider local government

Greenhaven Council is a constituent council of the Steadfast & Hearth Combined Sphere Authority. The council deals with Greenhaven’s local government functions; the combined sphere authority deals with the strategic and mayoral functions conferred on it across the wider Steadfast and Hearth area.
