Accessibility statement
Accessibility information for the Greenhaven Council website.
Using this website
Greenhaven Council aims to make its public information usable by as many people as reasonably possible. The site uses semantic headings, visible keyboard focus, a skip link, text with strong contrast and layouts that reflow for smaller screens. Forms use associated labels and navigation is designed to work without a mouse.
Using the site with different settings
Pages are designed to reflow as the screen becomes narrower and to remain usable with browser zoom. Navigation and forms are intended to work from a keyboard, and the heading structure is intended to give assistive technology a meaningful outline of each page. Users can apply their own browser or device text, colour and spacing preferences where the browser supports them.
Content and documents
Meeting papers, policies, forms and other Greenhaven documents will be published with accessibility considered as part of the publication process. Where a document cannot reasonably be made fully accessible, the council will provide an accessible alternative or a route to request the information in another format.
Forms and transactions
New Greenhaven forms use clear labels, useful error messages, logical keyboard order and instructions that do not rely on colour alone. Where an online route cannot meet a resident's access need, the service information will identify an assisted alternative rather than make the digital route the only way to obtain help.
Report an accessibility problem
If you cannot access a page, form or document, use the contact page. Tell us which page or item you were trying to use, what went wrong and what format or adjustment would help. This helps us respond to your access need and assess the underlying page.
Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is reviewed as new Greenhaven Council services, documents and democratic information are added. Problems found through testing or reported by users can then be corrected in the affected page, form or document.
Statement review
This statement describes the current Greenhaven Council website. It will be updated when material new features are introduced or when accessibility testing identifies a change that users need to know about.
