Archives and local history
Research Greenhaven history and find information about archive collections held by the council.
What the local archive covers
Greenhaven Council's archive service covers records and documentary material of lasting local value within the council's remit. This can include local history material, photographs, maps, publications and documentary collections where those materials are actually held by the council.
Finding archive material
When the archive service opens, holdings information or a catalogue will show what Greenhaven Council holds. Each collection description will explain the material available, any access restriction and how to request access.
Research enquiries and copies
If research enquiries, copying or other archive services are offered, this page will explain how to make a request, the information needed and any charge that applies before work begins.
National records
The National Archives remains responsible for national public records and archival leadership. Havenstead Library and other national cultural bodies retain their own collections and responsibilities. Greenhaven Council's archive service is the local route for material within Greenhaven's local remit.
