Have your say
How residents will be able to contribute to Greenhaven Council decisions and local civic life.
Taking part in local democracy
This section brings together the ways residents can take part in Greenhaven Council business, including consultations, public meetings, questions, petitions and other routes established by the council's constitution.
Consultations
Each live consultation will show the proposal or question, supporting information, the closing date and how to respond. Where a consultation leads to a council decision or plan, the outcome page will link to that later record.
Public meetings
The Greenhaven constitution and meeting pages will show the arrangements for attending meetings, asking questions or making representations where those routes apply.
Petitions and other representations
Greenhaven Council may establish formal arrangements for petitions and other public representations through its constitution or related procedures. Any threshold, notice period or procedural requirement will be published only once it has actually been adopted.
Community participation
Participation is not limited to formal council processes. Greenhaven’s communities, neighbourhoods, volunteering and civil society functions provide broader ways to support local involvement, while formal decisions remain with the body legally responsible for them.
Current opportunities
There are no live Greenhaven Council consultations or notices about taking part in meetings to publish at present. Genuine opportunities will appear here with dates, scope and a clear route for taking part.
Speaking at meetings
Where public speaking is available, the meeting page will show whether you can speak, how to register, the deadline, any time limit and the procedure for that meeting.
Questions and petitions
Formal questions and petitions will use the procedures adopted by Greenhaven Council. The public guidance will show who can use each route, what information is required, any notice period or threshold and where the response appears in the public record.
Consultation results
Closed consultations that informed a council decision or plan will remain linked to the outcome or later decision so you can see what happened after the consultation closed.
