Equality in council work

This section explains equality information connected with Greenhaven Council services, decisions, consultations and public participation. Service pages also provide accessibility information and routes for requesting adjustments where they are available.

Accessible services and participation

Residents will be able to understand how to use a service or take part in council business. Accessibility, communication needs and reasonable adjustments will therefore be considered when services, consultations, meetings and public information are designed.

Evidence in decisions

Where equality is material to a Greenhaven Council decision, the relevant public report will describe the effect being considered and any adjustment or mitigation connected with the proposal.

Designing services

Service pages will explain available accessibility arrangements and any alternative route where a resident cannot use the standard online process. If a service change has a material equality effect, the relevant decision or consultation information will explain that effect.

Public participation

Consultation and meeting pages will explain how to request an adjustment or alternative format for taking part. Where advance notice is needed for a practical arrangement, the page will state the contact route and deadline.

Current arrangements

Greenhaven Council has not yet adopted a Greenhaven equality strategy or published an operational equality reporting programme. Any such product will be added here only after it has been formally established for this authority.
